Although most of the
DADsercise exercises focus on building skeletal muscle mass, the most important
muscle in the body is the heart. As I have mentioned several times, getting a
good cardiovascular workout is a crucial component of DADsercise. I get most of
my cardiovascular workout by running either outside or on a treadmill. I try to
slip this activity in when it won’t affect my family time -- early morning,
lunch hour, or the weekend.
I realize running may not
be your thing. I suggest, however, finding a good cardiovascular workout that
fits your style. Even though it wasn’t high on the priority list at the start
of my DADsercise experience, running now comprises most of my heart work
exercises. Here are a few other ways that I found to get the ol’ heart pumping.
