The next day, at his game, Pedro met his coach at their
locker room. “OK guys!” the coach said. “Our team is called the Steelers.”
Pedro raised his hand.
“Do you mean like the Pittsburg Steelers?” he asked.
“Yep” said the coach.
“We’re a kid team with pro name and stadium”. The coach added one more thing before giving
them their locker number and combination.
“On offense, we have only one pass play” the coach said. “And it’s
called Thunder and Lighting. You just
get open. We have 4 running plays. Half-back hand off up the middle, full-back
handoff up the middle, half-back toss to the right, and half-back toss to the
left.
Pedro and Manny’s lockers were right next to each other, so
they went to get their jersey’s on and then get on the field. When they all got on the field, they
practiced all the plays. The coaches
thought Pedro did a good at catching the ball and blocking on the running plays.
But they thought he did awesome at getting open. So he maintained his position. So did Manny.
The game started in 30
minutes. What would happen?
